June 17, 1943-June 21, 2010
David K. Bokma became a partner of Rehabilitation Institute of Indianapolis in January of 1993. He was a leader in the Orthotic and Prosthetic industry for over 4 decades. Dave was a friend, partner and fellow amputee to his business partner Jim Goff until the very end when his health failed him at the age of 67. Dave fought cancer of several different kinds for nearly five years.
Those who knew Dave best would probably share the same stories about his overwhelming respect for others, his love of his profession, and most of all his love for his family. His patients not only had a great practitioner to service their needs but a fellow amputee and friend. His love for antiques, cars, trains and firearms were just a few of the things that enjoyed most; he also loved to play a round of golf and travel with his wife, proving how he never viewed himself as “disabled,” but rather as being fully capable of all things.
David K. Bokma was an integral part of Rehabilitation Institute of Indianapolis, and will always be remembered as such. He was a blessing to all who had the pleasure of meeting him, and has forever touched the lives of many patients.
